Expert Advice on Home Skin Care- Exfoliation for Healthy Skin Posted on 31. Jul, 2009 by in Product Recommendations
Exfoliation needs to be done twice a week. This will help prevent dullness and extreme clogging of the pores. If you are not currently incorporating this process into your skin routine- you are missing out on one of the keys to radiant, glowing skin:

Oily skin- the skin has difficulty sloughing off the dead skin cells, due to the sticky nature of oil. Do NOT reuse wash cloths. Damp cloths/exfoliating puffs left out will harvest bacteria and transfer to the skin causing irritation/breakouts. Use Alpha Hydroxy Acids: glycolic gel peels- twice a month

SKIN CEUTICALS (discounted product at StrawberryNet) This light chemical peel revitalizes photo-damaged skin Helps improves appearance of discoloration Stimulates collagen synthesis & elastin fibers in dermis Promotes cell renewal Reduces formation of fine lines & wrinkles Glycolic & lactic acid content minimize irritation & dryness

Manual Exfoliator- Beyond Belief pore refining scrub (Sally’s Beauty Supply) 5 out of 5 stars

Pros: salon quality, gentle and effective “When I get a facial at the salon, the products used are professional quality…and expensive! I find that this product is as good as the salon products, but at an affordable price! This scrub is gentle to the skin. It has just the right amount of “grit” without being harsh. My skin feels softer, smoother, and looks more refined. I also use the oil free moisturizer from the ABH line- salon quality facial at home!”

Dry skin- dead skin accumulates rapidly creating a dull appearance, inhibiting natural skin exfoliation and much needed moisture absorption/retention.

Lactic acid peel- Skin Ceuticals Gel (discounted at StrawberryNet)

Manual- Beyond Belief scrub mixed with gentle aloe-based cleanser

These issues can be easily resolved, by regularly exfoliating your skin.

Unless you have really sensitive skin, very mature skin, or a skin disorder of some kind, you will notice significant changes in your skin from regularly exfoliating. Exfoliating can be done manually using a mildly abrasive product such as a soft washcloth, a “scrub” or exfoliating mask twice a week. It can also be done with a chemical such as glycolic (for less sensitive skin).

Patience and getting rid of pimples overnight

Patience and getting rid of pimples overnight by Eric Coffey

I was just thinking about how important it can be to find a way to get rid of pimples overnight. After all, acne can be quite unsightly and having it on your face or forehead really does affect how you go about your work, how you’re perceived in school, or how you’re dealt with at home. Unfortunately, there are many experiences where first impressions really do count, and pimples are one very effective way of making a first impression not a completely positive one.
That’s why it can be really hard to be patient when trying to treat a pimple or pimples, and not seeing results even after days have passed. You want it to go away as quickly as possible because while it’s there, it can cause havoc in terms of your social life, and maybe even your work life. Even after applying whatever cream needs to be applied, or washing with whatever product, or going for treatment to a doctor or dermatologist, sometimes the benefits don’t come quite fast enough.

That said, while patience can be difficult, it is still necessary. The treatment may take days to kick in. Results might not be visible as fast as you might want. But that does not mean that nothing is happening, and the hope is that given enough hours or days, the pimples will disappear and your skin will be smooth again.

Discover How to Get Rid of Deep Eye Wrinkles

Discover How to Get Rid of Deep Eye Wrinkles by Frank Langella

Are you frustrated with deep eye wrinkles and bags under the eyes that make you look much older than your real age? Our eyes are the most prominent feature in our face. When you meet someone, you first notice their eyes. So any skin problem around your eyes is going to be very noticeable.

Apart from deep eye wrinkles, puffiness and dark circles are the most common problems that you can have. Deep forehead lines also accentuate the looseness of the skin. To find an effective solution for these problems, we need to first understand why they occur in the first place.

The cause of wrinkle formation in the skin is simple. To be firm and smooth, our skin needs plenty of new Collagen and Elastin proteins that the body produces internally for it. With age, this production rate decreases and the lack of these proteins makes the skin loose and wrinkly.

When we sleep, fluids build up under the eyes. If the drainage in the skin is not proper, the collected fluid causes puffiness in the skin.

Weak capillaries burst easily and deposit hemoglobin in the skin. This gives a bluish tinge to the skin which causes the dark circles under the eyes.

Since the skin beneath the eyes is a bit thinner, even a slight collection of fluids or hemoglobin is very visible. This is also the reason why you need separate ingredients for the skin around the eyes - regular face creams can cause irritation in this sensitive part of the skin.

There are some natural substances that are very effective in tackling these problems.

Take Cynergy TK for example. This natural extract enhances the collagen and elastin production in the skin significantly. This has a very marked effect in reducing the wrinkles from the skin. It is very effective in reducing deep forehead wrinkles or even deep eye wrinkles.

Eyeliss™ is a peptide that is very beneficial for the skin under the eyes. It makes the capillaries stronger and improves the drainage in the skin. This is very helpful in reducing the puffiness in the skin.

Halyoxl™ improves the blood circulation and removes the hemoglobin deposited in the skin. This makes the skin healthier and lighter too.

Homeo Age™ is a natural ingredient derived from brown algae. It reduces eye wrinkles and nourishes the skin with many vitamins and minerals.

Your next step? To take what you’ve learned and find the right ingredients to remove deep eye wrinkles - permanently and safely.

Look Younger With Fewer Wrinkles

Look Younger With Fewer Wrinkles by Jen Hopkins

Have you started to notice that you’re looking a little older than you did yesterday? Are you noticing more wrinkles on your face and hands? Well, you’re not alone. As we age our skin begins to lose its elasticity and we wrinkle. I’m sure you’ve thought about an antidote; so are there really any wrinkle creams out there that do the job of making you look and feel younger?
The answer is yes, there are many wrinkle creams available in stores today. You can save money by buying commodity branded cremes; those that can be found on the shelf in most department store cosmetic aisles. Let’s face it; Botox and plastic surgery aren’t cheap. So let’s look for ways to stay young and save money.

Your mileage my vary however. The results you get from one wrinkle cream may not be what you expect. Some creams have a lasting effect on your skin while others make no difference at all. So do some research in order to find out what works best for you.

More often than not these off the shelf products remove wrinkles by adding moisture to your skin. This tends to cause the skin cells to expand and make the wrinkles less noticeable. While this isnat a permanent cure, results can often be seen in less than thirty days of use.

So even though these affects don’t last forever people are still in search of that magic bullet that will rejuvenate their skin and make them look and feel younger. Keep in mind that these wrinkles will often return after you stop using a moisturizing agent.

Not only do these creams moisturize your skin but they also remove dead or damaged skin which can take years off of anyone’s age. Also, these creams tend to work on the wrinkles you have now not the wrinkles you’re going to have a few months or years. There is no avoiding wrinkling as we age.

Experiment with many different creams. Sometimes inexpensive creams do a better job of hiding or filling in wrinkles than more expensive name brands. Everyone’s skin is different so creams that have worked for others many not work as well for you.

One way to prevent wrinkles is to take care of your skin by protecting it from direct sunlight. Always use a sun block if you’re going to be outside. Many moisturizing creams are rated up to SPF 15; they not only moisturize but they protect you from the sun’s harmful rays. So stay ahead of the curve and start using moisturizers and sun blocks before wrinkles appear. You’ll be glad you did.

Diets to Get Rid of Pimple: Essential Fatty Acids

Diets to Get Rid of Pimple: Essential Fatty Acids by Nodame

Getting decent essential fatty acids is important in clearing pimple. It’s these fatty acids that aid control the output of androgens - the hormones that surge during the teenage years, which causes excess sebum oil to clog your pores and contribute to creating your pimples.
The three fatty acids you need are omega-3, omega 6, and omega-9. You need more omega 6, olive oil, than omega 3. This is a daily requirement!

When you are deficient in the essential fatty acids, you will have,

Sebaceous glands size growth Skin eruptions that won’t heal Increased sebum output causing pimples A weak immune system Poor skin

Consuming essential oils is required to provide the right oils that are used in the sebaceous glands. These oils can come from straight vegetable oils or from special foods such as nuts and seeds.

Use flax seed oil (omega-3 oil) and olive oil (omega-6 oil) in your salad. These are the best oils to eat and are called polyunsaturated fatty acids. The other oil that is even better for you is called monounsaturated fatty acid, omega 9 found in avocados.

Most diets people have contain an excess mass of omega 6 oils, so most likely you need to concentrate on getting more omega-3 oils into your diet.

You can get omega-3 oil from,

sesame seeds pumpkin seeds avocados dark leafy green vegetables (spinach, mustard greens, kale) walnuts salmon sardines

Or, you can take 1 to 4 tbsp. of flax seed oil, omega-3 oil, each day. This will give you the amount of omega-3 oil that your body needs to reduce or rule out pimples blemishes. You can add this oil to your morning cereal, soups, smoothies, salads and foods.

You can get omega 6 oil from,

§ Flaxseeds § grape seed oil § pistachio nuts § olives § sunflower seeds § pumpkin seeds

Taking 2-3 tablespoons of omega-6 oil a day will give you the amount of this oil that you body requires.

You can get omega-9 oil from,

§ Olive oil § Avocados § Cashews § Almonds § Olives § sesame oil

Taking around 1 ½ tbsp. of olive oil a day will give you the omega 9 oil that your body requires.

Fish Oils

In addition to providing your diet with omega-3 and omega-6 oils, you need to supplement your dieting with fish oils. Fish oil contains EPA and DHA fatty acids.

Normally, enzymes in your body break down omega-6 into EPA and DHA fatty acids.

Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA)

These 2 fatty acids eventually change into prostaglandins.

What are prostaglandins?

Prostaglandins are chemical substance hormones that come from omega 3 and omega 6 oils and that aid, regulate every function in your organs.

Prostaglandins also keep androgen hormones in control so that excess sebum is not produced in the pores, which results in pimple.

However, eating lot essential fatty acids may not insure that you produce enough EPA and DHA, which produce the essential prostaglandins.

It is critical for acne and more importantly for your health that you get enough EPA and DHA in your cells and organs so they can produce the required prostaglandins.

To growth the prostaglandins in your cell walls, it is necessary for you to take a fish supplement, w/c contains both the EPA and DHA.

Of course eating salmon, halibut, and mackerel twice a week will be a plus in providing your body with more EPA and DHA.

Include at least 20% of your diet calories as good fats - omega oils and fish oil. This is essential for controlling the excess activity of your hormones and get rid of pimple.
